US 285 to Fairplay, stop for a VERY short break

US 285 to Buena Vista
65 mi.

White Water Ride (Lunch after ride)

Additional Comments: Ya Hoo, hold on tight. We will be riding to Buena Vista for a great time of white water rafting. I will make reservations at River Runners for the group. River Runners has various classes of rides. They offer the Milk Run which is described as a float trip. The ride lasts about 1 ½ hours and costs approximately $25. They also offer the Browns Canyon trip. This ride has some Class III and Class IV white water. It is described as ideal for beginner and is 10 miles long. The cost of this ride is $46 for the half day ride. Other more difficult raft trips are available for those more adventurous.

They rent wet suits, booties and a jacket to help keep you dry and warmer. They are recommended at this time of the year, June 9. You will need some swimming attire and they have places to change.

Both rides leave at 10:30 a.m. We will need to be at their office at 9:30 a.m. I have asked about the road and parking lot. They are both dirt. I was told that "my father-in-law rides his Harley there all of the time". Should be ok for Hondas.

Bring a good snack for before the rafting. We will be able to go to lunch after the rafting. After lunch we can decide the return route back to Denver.

Reservations are recommended and I will be making the reservations in early April. They require a 50% deposit at the time of reservation and the remainder 2 weeks prior to the rafting. Please let me know which raft ride you would like and number of rafters. You can call the rafting company at 1-800-723-8987 and add you name to the list at any time. Discounts are available depending on the size of our group.
