RMVTA was
founded in 1984 as a group of Yamaha Venture enthusiasts. The club has
evolved into a touring association embracing all makes and models of motorcycles.
We meet on the Second Thursday of every month at Fay Myers
Motorcycle World at 9700 E. Arapahoe Rd. on the 2nd floor (outside
entrance) at 7:00
p.m.
We welcome all visitors and prospective members. It doesn't matter what
kind of a motorcycle you ride. All we ask is that you follow club rules,
ride safely, and have a blast! Come join us.
**The only prerequisite
for membership is that you ride safely**
A Short History of RMVTA:
Yamaha introduced a full-size touring bike named Venture Royale in 1983.
In early 1984 a group of people from the Denver area who purchased the
Venture Royales decided to form a motorcycle club. Ten members owning motorcycles established the club in 1984. Officers were elected and the
bylaws were established. This set up a network of like-minded motorcycle
enthusiasts to get together and share information, socialize and take
motorcycle tours.
Since Yamaha quit making the Venture Royale, members have purchased other
makes of touring, sport touring and cruiser motorcycles. The club has grown and the diversity of
models of motorcycles owned by members has increased. While some club members
still own Venture Royales, we have Goldwings, Harley Davidsons,
BMWs, Valkyries, Triumphs, Voyagers, and Royal Stars. You will also see trikes
and sidecars joining our rides.
The RMVTA ride book comes out in the spring at the March meeting. It includes day rides and
weekend rides throughout the riding season. The season starts in March
and ends in November. Some popular rides include Yellowstone, Taos, Santa
Fe, Crested Butte, Ouray, Black Hills and the Fall Color Ride though the
western slope of Colorado (just to name a few). In addition, each year
we have a Christmas Party, Membership Appreciation Party, and Progressive
Dinner Ride.
